Greenleaf Pubescent Wheatgrass is a cool-season sod forming perennial grass that is drought tolerant and winter hardy. Greenleaf is adapted to low-fertility soils and can tolerate some salinity. It is commonly used for pasture, hay production, erosion control and reclamation.
View Tech Sheet Planting Guide: Pubescent wheatgrass should be seeded with a drill at a depth of ½-inch or less on medium- to fine-textured soils and no more than 1 inch deep on coarse-textured soils. When seeded alone, a rate of 10 pounds per acre or 21 to 25 seeds per square foot is recommended. If used as a component of a mix, adjust to the percentage of mix desired.
